“About Me”
Why, you ask, is this essential information for you? Because. Because, aside from the mere creature comfort of being indisputably assured that you, your significant other, your offspring, your bow-tie-adorned fur babies, your friends, family, and/or your second cousin removed on your “Father’s side” are not in the hands of a complete lunatic, (*end rant), you possess the right to decipher whether I am “right”: the right person, the right style, the right experience.
Photography sessions are not simply forced, circled calendar dates on which we begrudgingly drag ourselves and/or our beloveds to. No. Photographs are preservations of moments…of seasons…of LIFE. A photograph is “magical”; magical because it manages to transport us. It’s the closest thing, to memory, that we have to a time machine; that is powerful. In choosing your photographer, ultimately, you are hand selecting an individual to capture who you ARE, as an individual, or an entity, or an EMPIRE.
That is why you care who I am.
So…allow me to introduce you to…well..ME. I am, if nothing else, wildly honest; honest with abandon. This is crucial to my work as a photographer because I acknowledge, and strive to embrace the value of authenticity…what something IS, rather than what it “could be”. One wouldn’t find me maneuvering limbs of, prodding suggested seated positions for, or meticulously tilting the heads of those I’m photographing. We are not figurines, and we are not methodically placed mannequins for the J Crew window display. People are just people, and their individual and unique connectivity can be organically captured when at ease with the individual entrusted with that exact task.
Here’s a great segue: I am an utterly, hopelessly, incurable people person. I crave company, and, I’m good company. I “get” people…it’s a gift of sorts, and one that has come in handy in every facet of my life, notwithstanding my photoshoots. What others consider “awkward” is just “Tuesday” for me. It’s almost a comfort zone, and the spectacular thing about that is that I am rarely found out-of-sorts. My photography mantra is “take it all in”. Let that baby cry; that’s what babies do. Of course that dog isn’t looking at my camera, there are a trillion squirrels in this park, y’all. It always, always, ALWAYS works out; and well, at that.
Take some time to reflect; these are photos, yes. Moreover, these are memories and moments shared with those you call “yours”, or, at the very least, don’t mind looking happy next to. The photographs clicked tomorrow and framed thereafter will serve as a trigger many moons from now to remind you of “then”…the sights, the smells, the sounds, the feel. Choose a photographer you trust will portray you and yours in a joyful, timeless, authentic fashion, and when you do, call me. It will be a blast.
